Overview of Piano Lessons: The piano is among one of the most popular instruments
because the keyboard offers an easy method to produce a full sound at one time, playing
both melody and harmony. Even beginner piano students can produce beautiful music with
only a few months of lessons. However, as with any instrument, reaching an advanced
level of play requires many years of study and dedication.
Adult Lessons: It's never too late to learn an instrument. Many of our adult students
take piano lessons again because "they took them as a child and quit" and now really want
to know how to play. We have experienced teachers who are used to teaching adults. We
understand the demands on your time and develop a program to help you succeed in taking
piano. We understand that you want to have fun playing songs you enjoy and we design our
lessons to meet your needs.
Lessons for Children: We generally recommend that children start taking lessons at
around 6 years old, although it certainly depends on the child. A child who can recognize
numbers up to 10 who you feel can sit through a lesson is usually a good candidate to begin
lessons. Of course, for younger children, the session will necessarily need to incorporate
fun activities to hold interest! There are many different methods and styles of teaching
and we can match the right teacher and method to your child's age and needs.

- Electric Keyboard Option: For a new student, an inexpensive electric piano is
perfectly acceptable for the first year or so of lessons. We suggest that the
keyboard has 88 WEIGHTED keys. This is important to help build finger strength
and to be able to easily move between your keyboard and any other piano they might
play. For more information please contact your teacher or give us a call. - Acoustic Piano Option: Eventually, an acoustic piano is the best choice for all
students and playing levels because of the range of sounds that can be produced
with physical strings. We are willing to help you find the instrument that is right
